About Study IT

Study IT is a mission-driven organisation providing free and accessible tech education to underserved young people in London. We believe in the power of technology to transform lives and close the digital divide. Through fully-funded courses, community partnerships, and industry-led instruction, we empower the next generation of diverse tech talent.

To bridge the opportunity gap by making tech education accessible to all. We focus on social mobility, community uplift, and career readiness. We exist to ensure every young person—regardless of background—can explore, learn, and thrive in the digital economy.

Based in the vibrant heart of Tottenham, North London, Study IT was founded to address the lack of accessible digital education opportunities in the area. Our deep ties to the local community extend through our collaboration with Study Right — a trusted tuition centre that has served young people across North and East London. With one branch located in Tottenham and the other in Walthamstow, Study Right complements our digital education work by offering high-quality academic support. Together, we form a holistic ecosystem of support, combining academic tutoring with practical tech training to give learners every advantage. We’re not just a tech education provider — we’re a neighbourhood movement focused on empowering youth, strengthening communities, and driving real, measurable change.

Our Values

Inclusion

We believe in breaking down barriers and creating spaces where every voice matters. According to Ofcom, around 6% of households in the UK lack internet access (Ofcom, 2023), which severely limits educational and career opportunities. Our work directly addresses this gap by ensuring access to free tech learning for everyone, regardless of background.

Innovation

We champion curiosity, experimentation, and creative problem-solving. Innovation allows us to respond to the fast-changing digital landscape and tailor our learning programmes to meet real-world needs. By staying agile, we can better serve underserved communities and drive social progress through creativity and technology.

Community

We collaborate with local partners and families to build a supportive learning network. Research shows that community-based educational programmes significantly improve learner engagement and retention (Community Learning Trusts, UK Gov, 2022). Our programmes are rooted in local needs, making tech education a shared, empowering experience.

Progress

We measure success by the opportunities our learners create for themselves and others. In the UK, digital skills gaps cost the economy an estimated £63 billion a year (Gov.uk, 2021). By equipping learners with job-ready skills, we enable them to contribute to the economy and uplift their communities.
